Chicken Kofta Kebab Burger

I have recently been loving recreating delicious dishes that I try at restaurants. This recipe is my version of Lamb Kofta Kebab sliders that I tried at a restaurant in Boston and was blown away by it. I tried making it with chicken instead of lamb but you can definitely try this same recipe with lamb. Making the juicy flavourful patty was rather easy to make and this dish really comes together with the greek yogurt sauce.


Prep time: 20 min Cook time: 15 min Serves: 2


Ingredients:

  • For the patty

    • 1 pound chicken

    • 1/2 cup of chopped onions

    • 2 cloves of garlic

    • 1 tbsp mint

    • 1 tbsp parsley

    • 1 tsp cumin powder

    • 1 tsp coriander powder

    • 1 1/2 tsp red chili powder

    • 1 tsp black pepper

    • 1/2 tsp lemon juice 

  • Greek yogurt sauce

    • 1 cup yogurt

    • 1/2 english cucumber

    • 1 tsp black pepper

    • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Burger :

    • 1 Tomato

    • 4 Burger buns

Method:

Burger Patty:

  • In a pot sauté chopped onions and minced garlic till the onions turn a bit soft. Don’t cook the onions completely.

  • In a bowl mix all the remain ingredients for the patty with the cooked onions and garlic and set this aside for 20-30 min.

  • Make medium sized patties of this mixture depending on the size of the burger buns. The patty should be the size of the bun or slightly bigger. 

  • Heat about a tbsp of oil in a frying pan and fry the patty on each side for about 8 minutes. 

Greek Yogurt Sauce:

  • Take shredded cucumber and strain the water out of the cucumber. Once you get most of the water out take a cup of yogurt and mix all the ingredients for the sauce.

Layer up your burger with the patty, greek yogurt sauce and tomatoes and enjoy your burger!
